Both sides are rated
On FixIt it is not only the customer who rates the tradesperson. After a completed job, the tradesperson can rate the customer too. Both ratings are on a scale of 1 to 5 stars and you can add a comment, or photos.
One rating from each side is created for each job — a rating is tied to the specific completed job, not to a general impression.
When you can rate
You can rate only after a job is completed — you cannot write a review on work in progress. After completion you get the option to fill in the rating.
When a review is published
So that one rating does not influence the other, publication works "blind". Your review stays hidden until the other side writes one too — then both appear at once. If the other side does not respond, the review is published automatically after 14 days. That way no one can tailor their rating to what they received.
Ratings affect jobs
A tradesperson's average rating is one of the factors that decide the order in which jobs are assigned. Good work therefore pays off in how many offers reach you, too.
FAQ
- Does the other side see my rating right away?
- No. Your review is hidden until the other side writes one too — then both appear at once. If the other side does not rate, your review is published automatically after 14 days.
- Does the tradesperson rate the customer too?
- Yes. After a completed job the tradesperson can rate the customer just as the customer rates the tradesperson — both on a scale of 1 to 5.
- Will my rating affect how many jobs I get?
- The average rating is one of the factors by which tradespeople are ranked when jobs are assigned. A higher rating therefore helps, but it is not the only criterion — distance and field play a role too.
