How FixIt works
A clear guide to the platform — from jobs and fees to taxes and contributions when you work on a gig contract. No fluff, real numbers.
Platform
How FixIt works
FixIt connects customers with vetted tradespeople — from an emergency that needs handling right away to a scheduled job. Here is an overview of how the platform works, who is who, and what a typical job looks like from request to payout.
FixIt fees
FixIt charges a fee for matchmaking and for secure payment processing. How much it is and where the fee comes from depends on the job mode. Here is the whole picture — with no hidden items.
Payments and payouts
Money on FixIt flows through a secure payment gateway — the customer pays by card, and the tradesperson gets paid depending on whether they work under their own IČO or as a FixIt employee. Here is how it works step by step.
Cancellation and refunds
Plans change sometimes. Here, in plain terms, is when a job can be cancelled, what happens once the tradesperson is already working on it, and how refunds work.
Reviews and ratings
After a completed job, both sides are rated — the customer rates the tradesperson and the tradesperson rates the customer. Ratings keep the quality of the service and fairness on both sides. Here is how it works.
How jobs are assigned
When a request comes in, FixIt offers it to the tradespeople who fit it — by field, availability, distance and rating. Here is an explanation of how a job reaches a tradesperson, whether you are a customer or a tradesperson.
Marketplace PRO: complex jobs with offers
Some jobs cannot be settled with a single fixed price — renovations, larger installations, bespoke work. For those there is Marketplace PRO mode: the customer posts an intent and tradespeople send in their own offers on it. Here is how it works and how payment is handled.
Work & money on a gig contract
Working through FixIt on an agreement (DPP)
When you work through FixIt without your own IČO (business ID), you are an employee of FixIt s.r.o. under a DPP (dohoda o provedení práce — work-performance agreement). You need no trade licence and no accountant — FixIt handles the contract, taxes and contributions for you. Here is how it is set up and what it involves.
02Pay and taxes: srážková daň, or a prohlášení?
Income tax is deducted from every DPP payment. How much actually lands in your account comes down to one thing above all — whether you signed the prohlášení poplatníka (the "pink form" taxpayer declaration) with FixIt. Here is exactly how it works.
03The 12 000 Kč monthly threshold
With a DPP there is one amount that matters a lot: 12 000 Kč gross per month. As long as you are below it, you pay no insurance contributions from your pay. Once you reach it, social and health insurance start to be paid. Here is exactly how it shows up on your payout.
04Your documents
All the paperwork you need as a FixIt employee is in one place in your account — from the monthly výplatnice (payslip) to the statement you need for your tax return. You do not have to request them; FixIt creates them automatically.
05Why FixIt asks for your health insurer
During setup, FixIt asks which zdravotní pojišťovna (health insurer) you are with. It is not a pointless question — as your employer, FixIt has to report and send the health-insurance contributions to that specific insurer of yours. Here is what FixIt handles for you and what stays with you.
06Registration with ČSSZ
One of the activation steps is registration with ČSSZ (Czech Social Security Administration). It sounds formal, but in practice you have nothing to do with it — FixIt takes care of it as your employer. Here is what it is and why it is worth waiting for.
07BOZP and training
Before you set out on a job through FixIt, you complete BOZP (bezpečnost a ochrana zdraví při práci — occupational health & safety) training. It is a statutory duty of the employer under § 103 of the zákoník práce (Labour Code) — and at the same time protection for you. You can complete the training online right in the app, and the certificate of completion is with you straight away.
