Why FixIt asks for your health insurer

During setup, FixIt asks which zdravotní pojišťovna (health insurer) you are with. It is not a pointless question — as your employer, FixIt has to report and send the health-insurance contributions to that specific insurer of yours. Here is what FixIt handles for you and what stays with you.

Why FixIt needs to know

Health insurance is paid to the specific insurer you are covered by. So that FixIt, as your employer, sends the contributions and filings to the right place, it needs to know which of the insurers you belong to. Without that, it could not correctly report the contributions for the months when participation in insurance arises for you.

You choose from seven insurers

Seven health insurers operate in Czechia, and in the app you simply pick yours from among them: VZP, VoZP, ČPZP, OZP, ZPŠ, ZPMV and RBP.

What FixIt reports and what you do

When you reach the threshold for participation in insurance in some month, FixIt calculates and pays the health-insurance contributions for you and files the monthly "Přehled o platbě pojistného zaměstnavatele" (employer statement of contributions paid) with the insurer. This filing is submitted to each insurer separately, which is why your choice matters.

What stays with you is only the essentials — being properly and continuously covered by health insurance, and letting FixIt know if you change your health insurer. You make the change in the app and FixIt then directs the contributions to the new insurer.

Let us know if you change insurer

If you switch to a different health insurer, update it in your FixIt account. Otherwise the contributions could go to the wrong insurer.

FAQ

Why exactly does FixIt want my insurer?
Because health-insurance contributions and the monthly přehled are filed with the insurer you are covered by. For you to be correctly reported as an employee, FixIt has to know your specific one.
What if I change my health insurer?
Let FixIt know and update your insurer in your account. FixIt then directs the contributions and filings to the new insurer.
Do I have to report anything to the insurer myself?
The routine contributions and the monthly přehled are filed for you by FixIt as your employer. Your duty is to stay properly covered by health insurance and to report any change of insurer to FixIt.
