How the customer pays
The customer pays by card right in the app through the secure Stripe gateway. The payment is prepared when the job is booked or accepted, and the money is charged after confirmation. The card number is never stored anywhere on FixIt — Stripe holds the entire payment flow.
The exception is complex jobs with offers, which in the first version of FixIt run off-platform — for these the customer and the tradesperson settle directly and FixIt does not process the payment.
Two payout paths
Which way the money reaches you is determined by the capacity under which you do the work.
Partner company with an IČO

When FixIt employees' payout arrives
Pay is added up for the calendar month and paid out in bulk once a month by transfer to the account you entered at activation. For details on where you can see your pay accumulate, check the Working with FixIt section.
Refunds are proportional
When it comes to a refund, FixIt returns a proportional part — the corresponding share of both the price and the fee is refunded, not just one of the items. The refund is handled through the same gateway the payment went through.
FAQ
- Does FixIt store my card number?
- No. The payment and the storage of payment details are held by the Stripe payment gateway; FixIt does not work with the card number.
- Do I need a Stripe account as a FixIt employee?
- No. A Stripe account (Stripe Connect) is used only by partner companies with an IČO. As an employee on a DPP you enter just your bank account (IBAN) and FixIt sends your monthly payout to it.
- What happens if the customer cancels the job after paying?
- FixIt refunds a proportional part of the amount paid through the same gateway the payment went through. The corresponding share of both the price and the fee is refunded.
